Párkányí Quartet
Formed in 1976 as the Orlando String Quartet, the Párkányí Quartet was declared one of the world's best quartets by the New York Times. The quartet won First Prize at the Carlo Jachino International String Quartet Competition in Rome in 1976 and First Prize in the Helsinki European Broadcasting Union's International Competition for String Quartets in 1978. They are also two-time winners of the Grand Prix du Disque.
Based in the Netherlands, the Párkányí Quartet comprises István Párkányi, violin; Michael Müller, cello; Heinz Oberdorfer, violin; Ferdinand Erblich, viola.
