Singer-songwriter and West Coast Music Award nominee Marianne Grittani has been making music for more than 50 years. She was influenced early in her teenage life by artists like Joni Mitchell, Gordon Lightfoot, Tom Rush, Carol King, John Prine, and Stan Rogers. Working in coffee houses in London (Smales Pace) and Toronto (The Riverboat) she met and even learned from a lot of them and is now a seasoned songwriter in her own right. Marianne knows how to take her audience deep into her story lines with soulful and compelling vocals — to see her live is to become a fan!.
Rose Birney is a two-time songwriting delegate to the BC Festival of the Arts and winner of the North Island Talent Search in the acoustic group category. She has played most of the festivals on Vancouver Island as well as the CBC's Madly Off In All Directions, and brings so much to the table with her versatility on harmonica, mandolin and harmony vocals — not to mention her humour!
Marianne and Rose met on a dance floor in November 2016, introduced by a mutual friend who said "You two should know each other." They got together the following Thursday to play and they've been making beautiful music together ever since. Joining them for this performance will be pedal steel guitar player extraodinaire, Tyler Lieb, who has been making a name for himself on stages and recording sessions since he took it up during Covid and soon became everyone's first call if they needed tasteful accompaniment.
