Victoria Folk Music Society weekly gathering; Everyone welcome jam 6:45pm, Open Stage 7:30pm, Feature Performers Connie Lebeau and Niels Petersen at 9pm; Norway House, 1110 Hillside Avenue, $8 cash at the door
Originally from Denmark, Niels Petersen has been a performing musician, producer, and song-writer since his move to Canada, sharing the stage with such artists as Joan Armatrading, Tina Turner, Burton Cummings and many more. A prolific composer himself, Niels has over 100 songs and compositions in his catalogue, and has written music for CBC Radio shows, television documentaries, and short films.
Connie Lebeau, originally from Winnipeg, moved to the West Coast where she teamed up with Niels and began touring from coast to coast as a singer, bass- and accordion-player with such Canadian greats as Valdy, Shari Ulrich, Connie Caldor, Gary Fjellgaard, and Roy Forbes.
Niels and Connie had to cancel their January feature due to illness so we are delighted they are recovered and ready to take to the VFMS stage this month!
